Repair, Restore, and Protect Your Smile

Tooth decay, damage, and tooth loss can affect much more than the appearance of your smile. They can make it harder to chew, speak, maintain your oral hygiene, or feel comfortable throughout the day.

At Dr. Joe Dental Group, restorative dentistry focuses on repairing damaged teeth, replacing missing teeth, and helping preserve your natural smile whenever possible. Our team combines personalized treatment planning with technologies such as inLab and CEREC to support customized restorations and, for eligible cases, more efficient treatment.

From a simple filling to a dental implant or full smile restoration, we’ll evaluate your needs, explain your options, and help you determine the right path forward.

What Is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry includes treatments that repair damaged or decayed teeth and replace teeth that are missing. The goal is to restore important aspects of your oral health, including function, structure, and appearance.

Restoring damaged or missing teeth can also help maintain proper spacing and support a more functional bite. Depending on your needs, treatment may involve one tooth or several teeth as part of a broader restoration plan.

Restorative Solutions for Your Smile

Our comprehensive approach allows us to offer several options for repairing and replacing teeth. The appropriate treatment depends on the condition of your teeth, your oral health, and your individual needs.

Fillings repair teeth affected by cavities and help prevent further damage. Tooth-coloured composite fillings can be shaped and matched to the surrounding tooth for a restoration that blends naturally with your smile.

A crown is a custom restoration that covers a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, and function. Crowns may also be used following root canal treatment or to support certain dental restorations.

Learn More About Crowns & Bridges

A bridge can replace one or more missing teeth by connecting an artificial tooth to neighboring teeth or restorations. Bridges help fill gaps in your smile while supporting chewing and everyday function.

Dental implants provide a foundation for replacing missing teeth. An implant can support a crown, bridge, or denture while helping restore function and maintain the structure of the jaw.

Veneers are thin, custom-made restorations placed on the front of selected teeth. They are primarily a cosmetic treatment and may help address concerns such as discoloration, chips, gaps, or uneven tooth shape.

Dental bonding uses tooth-coloured composite material to repair or reshape teeth with certain minor cosmetic concerns. It can be used to address selected chips, gaps, discoloration, or changes in tooth shape.

Technology Supporting Your Restoration

The details matter when restoring a tooth. Our digital technology helps support customized treatment planning and communication between our practice and dental laboratory.

inLab

We use inLab digital technology to support the design and customization of dental restorations. Digital information can help our team and laboratory create restorations based on the specific characteristics of your mouth.

inLab can support a range of treatments, including crowns, bridges, dentures, veneers, and dental implants.

CEREC

CEREC allows certain ceramic restorations to be digitally designed and fabricated in our office. For eligible patients, this can make it possible to complete a crown in a shorter timeframe, including same-day treatment in appropriate cases.

This technology can be particularly useful when a damaged tooth needs prompt restoration.

Restorative Care for Dental Emergencies

Dental damage does not always happen at a convenient time. A fractured tooth, damaged filling, or sudden tooth pain may require prompt evaluation and treatment.

Depending on the condition of the tooth, restorative treatment may include a filling, crown, root canal, or another solution. For eligible cases, our CEREC technology may allow us to provide a same-day crown when a damaged tooth needs immediate restoration.

If you experience a dental emergency, contact our office so we can assess your situation and determine the appropriate next step.

Comprehensive Care for Every Stage of Your Smile

Restorative dentistry can address a single damaged tooth or be part of a broader plan involving multiple teeth. Because Dr. Joe Dental Group provides a range of dental services under one roof, we can consider how different treatments work together when developing your care plan.

If you’re dealing with tooth damage, decay, missing teeth, or concerns about the function of your smile, we’re here to help you understand your options.

Restoration Dentistry FAQs

Restorative dentistry includes treatments that repair damaged or decayed teeth and replace missing teeth. Common treatments include fillings, crowns, bridges, dental implants, and other tooth replacement options.

The appropriate treatment depends on factors such as the condition of your tooth, the extent of any damage or decay, your oral health, and your goals. We’ll evaluate your smile and explain the available options.

In many situations, restorative treatment can help preserve a damaged or weakened natural tooth. Fillings, crowns, and root canal treatment may all be used to restore teeth rather than remove them, depending on the circumstances.

Restorations can be designed to complement your existing teeth in color, shape, and size. Digital technology can also support detailed customization for certain restorations.

Yes. Dental implants, bridges, and dentures can all be used to replace missing teeth. Your options will depend on the number of teeth missing, your oral health, and your treatment goals.

Some patients may be candidates for same-day CEREC crowns. Eligibility depends on the tooth being treated, the type of restoration needed, and your individual circumstances.

The lifespan of a restoration varies depending on the type of treatment, oral hygiene, bite forces, the condition of surrounding teeth, and everyday use. Regular dental visits can help monitor your restorations and overall oral health.

A damaged tooth should be evaluated to determine whether it can be restored and which treatment is appropriate. Depending on the situation, options may include bonding, a filling, a crown, a root canal, or extraction followed by tooth replacement.
